Should attorneys delete the chat feature from their website?

“Attorneys should consider removing the chat feature from their websites. The concept, known as the Paradox of Choice, introduced by psychologist Barry Schwartz, illustrates how offering too many options can lead to decision paralysis and reduced satisfaction.

Take a look at your website. Do you have a phone number, a form for visitors to fill out, and a chat option? We recommend keeping only a phone number at the top and a form at the bottom of your site. If someone fills out the form, they’ve likely read through your homepage and are probably a qualified lead.

Adding a chat button can complicate things. Our experience shows that chat features often reduce phone call conversions and lead to fewer qualified form submissions. Simplify your site: encourage visitors to call or fill out the form at the bottom. Streamlining these options helps ensure you capture high-quality leads effectively.”
