“TikTok is back! (For now.)
In the days leading up to its short-lived ban, things changed fast. Users didn’t wait to see if TikTok would stick around. Even before the ban was took effect, they flocked to alternative apps — most notably the Chinese-owned app RedNote (a blend of TikTok, Tumblr, and Pinterest) which became the #1 download on the U.S. App Store overnight.
Everyone had expected Meta’s Facebook and Instagram would crush all competition post-TikTok. But RedNote stole the show. Which was a wake-up call for a lot of people.
If a platform can rise and fall that quickly, what does that mean for your marketing strategy? If your firm relies on social media, you can’t put all your eggs in one basket. One or two apps won’t carry your marketing. And no single platform is too big to fail (no, not even Facebook).
As Legal Marketers, it’s vital that you stay flexible to stay ahead of the curve and your competition. Diversify your marketing dollars and be prepared to adapt so you can hop on new trends. Because in digital marketing, the only constant is change.”
