Google’s New Mobile Search Design: A Guide for Law Firms

Google is leveraging the power of AI to improve the functionality of mobile search. Here’s how the changes can benefit your law firm in terms of gaining new Hispanic clients:

Recently, Google unveiled a multi-search feature in Lens that allows users to add text queries to a photo. For example, if a Hispanic user in your area uploaded a photo of their car wreck and asked, in Spanish, what attorneys in their area could help them with their predicament, Google would show them a list of Spanish-speaking personal injury attorneys in the area!

Since this new way to search isn’t part of Google’s generative AI experience, users don’t have to go through Search Labs or do anything else out of the ordinary to use the feature. All they have to do is tap the Lens icon in the Google app for Android or iOS, upload a photo, ask a text question, and get their search response.

Google is also unveiling a feature that allows users to search by circling, highlighting, or tapping text or images on their phones. For example, if a Hispanic user in your area were reading an article about car wrecks or watching a video about car wrecks, they could tap their screens and ask, in Spanish, what attorneys in their area could help them with such a predicament. In such a scenario, Google would once again show a list of Spanish-speaking personal injury attorneys in the area.

To benefit from these new features, your law firm doesn’t have to do anything except make sure that its website is search engine optimized. Remember, that means optimizing your firm’s Google Business Profile as well as your site. (We recently published a blog about optimizing your firm’s GBP profile.)

And don’t forget, you can greatly increase the probability that your law firm will enjoy a high ranking in the search results for these new ways to search by creating a Google Business Profile for each of your Spanish-speaking attorneys.
